Are you worried about your child’s education or confused about schooling? Do you have worries but do not know where to begin? Is your child in the Multi Tiered Student Support (MTSS), have a 504 Plan or Individual Education Plan (IEP) and you want a second opinion?
I’ve been a member of thousands of school team meetings designed to ensure a child is making expected progress and follow legal requirements. I am well-versed in formative assessment, standardized assessment, response to intervention strategies, educational policies, best practices, and placement options. I have a deep love, respect and appreciation for all teachers, schools, and school leadership. I understand where a parent’s wants may conflict with what a school is able to provide, leading to conflict and distrust. If your goal is to improve educational outcomes for your child in a positive collaboration with the school, my mentoring and advocacy can help.

Sending your child to college can be as difficult as sending them to their first day of Kindergarten. If your child has an IEP, 504 plan or has an identified disability, their college is required to provide accommodations to give them equal access to the school’s curriculum. Your college student, a legal adult, is now tasked with accessing this support independently. I offer consultative support for college students in navigating these new worlds and in helping them to grow in confidence and claim increasing feelings of independence and success.

If your child has an IEP, 504 plan or has an identified disability, their college is required to provide accommodations to give them equal access to the school’s curriculum. The purpose of this evaluation is to confirm long standing disabilities to allow for a student to receive accommodations. The student should have an existing diagnosis of ADHD, Autism or Learning Disorders/Dyslexia and have a history of receiving accommodations during their high school years. The evaluation will include assessment of cognitive abilities, academic achievement, and relevant checklists to confirm pre-existing diagnosis. Testing is completed in a single day. The assessment includes consultation with a Clinical Psychologist to render appropriate DSM-IV diagnosis. A comprehensive written report is provided.
